Det var en del av klädjätten och delägaren H&M:s Renewcell köper in råvara (textil) som sedan förädlas till en massaprodukt kallad “circulose” som därefter används för ny textilframställning. Det handlar om cellulosabaserade material och då bomull är den idag största kategorin så har bolaget valt att optimera mot detta material. Renewcell har utvecklat en egen process för kemisk återvinning av textilier. Resultatet kallar bolaget circulose, ett material som både H&M och Levi's har använt i sina kollektioner under året. Vid demonstrationsanläggningen i Kristinehamn har Renewcell som mest kunnat ta emot 5 000 ton textilavfall per år. Svenska Renewcell har utvecklat en process för kemisk återvinning av textilier.
